You might be in the habit of cleaning, exfoliating and moisturizing your face, but what about the skin on your hands? Your hands actually age faster than your face, and they need just as much TLC!
Here are five tips that will make your hands look ten years younger:
1. Wash Your Hands Correctly
Washing your hands on a regular basis can help keep germs at bay, but constant contact with soap can end up drying out your skin. Look for soap with moisturizing ingredients such as olive oil or aloe vera.
2. Wear Gloves
The skin on your hands is sensitive to external factors including cold weather, chemicals and dry air. Wear gloves to protect your hands in cold weather and when doing household chores. If you have a green thumb, use cloth gardening gloves.
3. Moisturize Your Hands
Your skin needs moisture! Drink plenty of water throughout the day stay hydrated from the inside out, and use moisturizer daily to keep your skin soft and protected. Coconut oil is an excellent natural moisturizer that you can use!
4. Don’t Forget To Scrub!
Exfoliating your hands can help get rid of dry, dead skin and make room for soft, healthy skin. For a DIY hand scrub, you’ll need half of an avocado, one egg yolk and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients together and apply it to your hands. Let it soak into your skin for about 20 minutes before rinsing.
5. Use Sunscreen
Forgoing sunscreen can make your skin age faster due to damage from the sun. Be sure to apply sunscreen to your hands when spending time outdoors. Look for a sunscreen that’s full of natural ingredients, instead of harsh, toxic chemicals.
